I'm looking at a 488 GTB and the seller keeps going on about how clean it is and how well it's been looked after, but I'm more worried about the bits you can't see, especially the turbos and the engine itself. A cosmetic check is pointless on a car like this because they all look good in photos. Someone told me a top Ferrari pre purchase inspection in Umm Suqeim goes deep into the mechanicals, including compression and leak checks, so I started reading up on what's actually covered. It looks thorough on paper, but I'd rather hear from someone who's actually had one done. Did they properly dig into the engine and gearbox or was it more of a visual walkaround with a scanner plugged in? And did they give you a clear picture of what needed doing soon versus what could wait? I don't want a report that just lists everything as fine without really looking.
