I changed the battery in my key fob last week and since then it's stopped unlocking the car remotely, though it still works if I use the physical key. I'm assuming the fob has lost its pairing somehow, which I didn't realise could happen just from a battery swap. I want to see details about what's actually involved in reprogramming before I pay anyone, because I'd feel silly paying for something that's a two minute fix. Has anyone had this happen after a battery change? Is there a sequence to re-pair it yourself, or does it need proper programming equipment? Also, does it matter what car it is, or is the process broadly the same across brands?
