STONE WOVEN INTO HIS BEING

1562 4D

The child I chose, grown now to full manhood, walks with my songs embedded in him. The anth stone he picked up as a child has woven itself into his being; the detectors resonate with it, and his line takes him into a cusp of danger.

If I let him go alone, he will die, and the Zashinhalh will prevail. If I go with him, the detectors may find me, and he will pass near death, but perhaps he and the other humans will survive.

This is the moment of choice and no choice. I gather myself and my sheaves, and rise to join him. From here on, I must stay near him, and keep myself concealed. If the Zashinhalh find me, my end will knot itself with the end of the humans here.
